Alien's Change of Address Card
Form AR-11 is the paper card a non-citizen in the United States can mail to USCIS to report a new address. USCIS says non-citizens in the United States must report a move within 10 days, except A and G visa holders and visa waiver visitors. The card asks for your name, date of birth, A-Number if you have one, your present and previous physical addresses, and a mailing address if you want to give one.
The form opens in our PDF editor with its own fields ready to type into. You can fill it in without an account; downloading the filled PDF needs a free account. A free account gets 15 credits a day, enough for one form a day.

Who uses Form AR-11
- Non-citizens living in the United States who have moved
- People who have filed an immigration benefit request with USCIS and have a new address
- People who want to report a move by mail instead of through a USCIS online account
- VAWA, T and U applicants and people with an I-751 abuse waiver, who may mail it to the service center processing their case
Before you start
- Your full legal name and date of birth
- Your A-Number, if you have one
- Your new physical address in full, with any apartment, suite or floor number and the ZIP code (no PO boxes)
- The physical address you moved from
- A separate mailing address, if you want to give one
- The ZIP codes, checked with the USPS ZIP Code lookup, which USCIS recommends so the address uses standard USPS formatting
How to fill out Form AR-11
Information About You
Enter your family name (last name), given name (first name) and middle name if you have one. Enter your date of birth as mm/dd/yyyy. Family name, given name and date of birth are marked with an asterisk, which means they are required. If you have an A-Number, write it after the printed "A-".
Present Physical Address
Under Information About Your Address, enter where you live now: street number and name, apartment, suite or floor number, city or town, state and ZIP code. This must be a physical address, so a PO box is not allowed. Street, city, state and ZIP code are required.
Previous Physical Address
Enter the physical address you moved from, in the same format: street, unit number, city or town, state and ZIP code. The instructions on page 2 ask you to complete all fields on the form.
Mailing Address (optional)
This section is marked optional. It is for an address where you receive mail, if that is different from your present physical address.
Your Signature
Print the form and sign it by hand in the signature box. Write the date of signature as mm/dd/yyyy. USCIS rejects any unsigned form.
Check page 2 before you mail
Page 2 holds the instructions, the mailing address and the DHS privacy notice. When you print, make sure the edition date (11/02/22) and page numbers show at the bottom of each page and that all pages are from the same edition.
After you fill it out
Mail the signed form to USCIS at the address printed on page 2 of the form, and check the Where to File section of the official AR-11 page before you send it. Do not send any other forms or fees to that address. If you have a VAWA, T or U case or an I-751 abuse waiver, follow the separate change-of-address procedures USCIS publishes for those cases. Most people can also report a move through a USCIS online account instead of mailing the paper card.
Signing: The signature field is required and USCIS rejects unsigned forms. USCIS signature rules for paper forms call for a handwritten signature and do not accept typed, stamped or software-made signatures or a pasted image of one, so print the form and sign it by hand in ink.
Watch out for
- Filing Form AR-11 with USCIS does not update your address with the Immigration Court. If you are in immigration proceedings, you must notify the court separately.
- Changing your address with the U.S. Postal Service does not change it with USCIS, and USPS will not forward your mail from USCIS.
- USCIS may reject a printed form if any page is missing or comes from a different edition of the form.
- Failure to report a change of address is punishable by a fine or imprisonment and/or removal from the United States, according to the form.
Questions about Form AR-11
Who has to report a change of address?
USCIS says all non-citizens in the United States must report a change of address within 10 days of moving. The requirement does not apply to A and G visa holders or visa waiver visitors.
Can I report my new address online instead?
Most people can. USCIS strongly encourages using the change-of-address tool in a USCIS online account: it meets the same legal requirement, removes the need to mail a paper AR-11 and updates USCIS systems almost immediately. Some groups, such as people with VAWA, T or U cases, follow their own procedures.
Does a paper AR-11 update my address in USCIS systems right away?
USCIS says a paper AR-11 meets the legal requirement to report a move but does not update your address automatically in its systems. With the online tool, you enter the receipt number of each pending case so the new address is applied to it.
I sponsored someone with an affidavit of support. What do I file?
A U.S. citizen, U.S. national or permanent resident who submitted an affidavit of support for another person must file Form I-865, Sponsor's Notice of Change of Address, within 30 days of moving.
Is there a filing fee?
The official AR-11 page sends you to the USCIS Fee Schedule (Form G-1055) for the filing fee. Check it there before you mail the form.
