Terms of Service
Last updated: September 30, 2026
Welcome to GuruPDF. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the GuruPDF website and services (collectively, the "Service"), operated by the company behind GuruPDF, incorporated in Ontario, Canada. By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the Service. Your continued use of the Service will be deemed as acceptance of any changes to the Terms.
2. Description of Service
GuruPDF provides a suite of online tools for PDF conversion, editing, and management. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service, or any part thereof, with or without notice at any time.
3. User Conduct and Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for the content of the files you upload and process through our Service. You agree not to use the Service to process any files that:
- Infringe on any third party's copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret, or other proprietary rights or rights of publicity or privacy.
- Violate any law, statute, ordinance, or regulation.
- Are defamatory, trade libelous, unlawfully threatening, or unlawfully harassing.
- Contain any viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time bombs, cancelbots, or other computer programming routines that are intended to damage, detrimentally interfere with, surreptitiously intercept, or expropriate any system, data, or personal information.
4. File Handling and Privacy
We are committed to protecting your privacy. Our file handling process is designed to be secure and private:
- Files you upload are transmitted over a secure SSL connection.
- All files are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers one hour after processing. The only exception is a file you explicitly choose to share with us to report a problem: that copy is kept temporarily, for up to 14 days, and then deleted.
- We do not monitor, access, copy, or analyze the content of your files in the ordinary course of business. We may access file content only where strictly necessary — to provide or repair the Service, to investigate suspected abuse or a security incident, or to comply with a legal obligation.
For more detailed information, please review our Privacy Policy.
5. Intellectual Property
All rights, title, and interest in and to the Service, including its design, text, graphics, and other content, are the exclusive property of the operating company and its licensors. The GuruPDF name and logo are trademarks of the operating company. You may not use them without our prior written permission.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. The operating company does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the operating company, its affiliates, directors, employees, or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service.
8. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the operating company and its licensee and licensors, and their employees, contractors, agents, officers, and directors, from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees), resulting from or arising out of your use and access of the Service, or a breach of these Terms.
9. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
10. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of any changes by posting the new Terms on this page. By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
12. Contact Information
